There will be NO Day Campers and NO Camp Weekends in 2021
For campers who would like to only attend during the day, our Day Camp option is available during each week. Drop off is 8:00 a.m. and we will arrange pick up times individually.

The actual cost for us to support a camper at camp for one week is $1,300. In 2018, we implemented a new voluntary tiered price schedule. We are asking families to choose the tier that is most comfortable and affordable for their family and decide at what level within that tier they will contribute which will help us to offset our overall expenses.

Camper applications are processed on a first come-first served basis. A completed Application Packet as well as the $150 deposit is what is required to register your camper and hold their spot. Because space is limited, we encourage families to return these items to us as quickly as possible to ensure your camper's attendance. Campers may attend more than one week of camp, and many of our campers do! We only require ONE Application Packet each summer, however you will need a separate medication sheet for each week of attendance. We also require an additional $150 deposit is for each week that the camper plans to attend.

There are some additional forms included with the Application Packet such as a Health Packet, Steps For Completing form, Medication Forms, a Low Ropes Course release form, and a demographics form. However these additional pieces of paperwork do not need to be submitted with the Application Packet and may be returned to us at a later date. The remaining paperwork as well as the remaining balance must be submitted to us NO LATER THAN MAY 1st.

                                                        ***VOLUNTARY TIERED PRICING STRUCTURE***
Beginning in 2018, Camp Millhouse implemented a new voluntary tiered pricing for summer camp fees.  As we’ve shared in the past, the actual cost to provide one week of summer camp is approximately $1,300.00 per camper. That cost would include: staff and staff training/certifications, food, electric, gas, pool chemicals and maintenance, camp supplies (toilet paper, paper towel, hand soap, medical gloves), 24-hour nursing and medical supplies, grounds & building maintenance, printing/postage, insurance (directors' health insurance in addition to property, liability, auto and work comp), camper t-shirts, camp wear and tear, etc.

Understanding that families have different abilities to pay, Camp Millhouse is offering a four-tiered fee program with the minimum for every camper being $600.00/week. It is a “free-will” system; you pick the tier and dollar amount that is most comfortable and affordable for your family. All campers receive the same experience no matter what they pay and all financial information is kept confidential.

          Tier 1                                  Tier 2                                  Tier 3                                  Tier 4
   $600 - $799                       $800 - $1049                   $1050 - $1299                    $1300 & Up
Our 2020 application will have a space for you to indicate your choice and it will read something like this:
Please indicate your preferred tier and the amount you intend to pay by May 1st which we will reflect on your account.  **We have chosen Tier __________ and will be paying $____________  for each registered week of camp. **

As always, the office is available to answer any questions or help you complete your application. Please call 574-233-2202.

CAMPERSHIPS:  We never want a lack of funds to be a reason a camper cannot come to camp.  There are many ways to fund the camp fees.
  • You may contact the office to make payment arrangements to spread out the fees over an extended period of time (August to May for the following summer)
  • Contact local civic and service organizations to ask for assistance. For example: Lions Club, Kiwanis Club, Rotary Club, Civitan, sororities, or churches
  • Grants – Racing for Steve-O Foundation (racingforsteveo.org), Indiana Youth Institute, check with your local diagnosis-specific organizations (i.e. Down Syndrome Indiana, Autism Society of Indiana – each state should have similar organizations)
  • Friends and family – instead of other gifts, friends and family could gift your loved one a week of camp or pay toward it. The funds can be sent directly to camp noting whose account should be credited.
  • Although we have limited funds, Camp Millhouse also offers camperships. We are not able to give a full campership. We are able to help with part of the fee.  The application can be found on the Forms tab on this website.

If you live in any of the following counties, you qualify to apply for a scholarship through the Racing for Steve-O Foundation.  Their scholarship application can be found on their website and should be returned directly to their foundation for consideration.  The counties they cover are: St. Joseph, Elkhart, Marshall, Starke,  LaPorte, LaGrange, Porter, Kosciusko, andd Fulton in Indiana.  Cass and Berrien in Michigan.  www.racingforsteveo.org/recreational_grant_application

Testimonials
Here's what people are saying about Camp Millhouse!
"I am very grateful that my grandson had the opportunity to attend Camp Millhouse and participate in the wholesome festivities.  I am impressed that all staff members were sensitive to his individual wants and needs and were willing to accommodate him with utmost patience. I cannot even imagine the planning, purchasing, staffing, rules and regulations necessary to provide a happy, safe and fun experience for Michael and others with limitations preventing them from life experiences."

“Thrilled that Camp Millhouse exists! As parents who get very little time away on our own we know that our son is safe and enjoying himself while we have a chance to get away for a few days.”

"My daughter attends a summer session and enjoys it. We are thrilled to have a safe  place for her to enjoy time with her peers, stay active, and have fun!""

“Provides an exceptional experience for both children and adults with disabilities to celebrate themselves and each other and to challenge their personal boundaries while celebrating their successes.”

“This was a wonderful camp week for both Jenny & us. She was happy, clean, and her clothes were returned and sorted upon her return. The counselors were great not only asking good intake questions but giving good feedback on day of departure.”

“It's an amazing place that changes the lives of their campers and staff.”

“This was Lauren’s second summer at Camp Millhouse and she has enjoyed it so much she wants to go back for 2 sessions next summer.  Camp Millhouse has provided an opportunity for Lauren to have independence and experience social growth in a fun and safe environment. It’s all she talks about for weeks after attending and she keeps making more friends.”
