The camp is operated by Camp Millhouse Inc., a not-for-profit organization led by a volunteer Board of Directors. The camp was founded in 1937 and held at various locations until 1940 when the late Mr. & Mrs. Charles Millhouse donated ten acres of wooded property in Greene Township of St. Joseph County, ten miles southwest of downtown South Bend, Indiana. The camp has grown to it’s present size of 45 acres through the generosity and nurturing support of the Board of Directors and the surrounding community. Camp Millhouse has survived solely in the support of the community, through fundraisers and other monetary donations and camper fees.

Camp is not a United Way agency and does not receive government monies.
